Welcome!

I paint imagined "places" where I can ground myself and spiritually recharge. As a student of joy, my purpose is to explore energy and the concept of being with only positive thoughts and ideas. While I paint, I dance to my favorite music of the genres of reggae and reggae rock, deeply ingesting the messaging and sounds. The result is an elevated experience that feels life-giving. 

Large canvases invite me to physically engage with space and move freely. Vivid, high contrasting colors help me pronounce the light as a source of energy, while close-up views keep me personally involved in the understanding of what I'm painting and to stay grounded in the beauty of where I am standing. These first-hand perspectives invite a freedom to witness things, to learn how light affects the environment and mood, and to find optimism in what can be imagined is beyond the foreground. 

Palm trees are biblical subject matter for me, symbolizing all of nature and creation. They offer a gentle, comforting chaos through their natural connections, patterns, and disorder and serve as a bridge to another, higher, spiritual place of enlightenment. In the moments of these paintings, there is only this one version of me, and the epitome of what love wants and is.

The year 2025 was life-changing and challenging. The friction and tension finally resulted in me being more closely mindful of the needs to find joy and protect my peace. I began creating my most important work energetically and spiritually, work that was very different from the previously darker, depth-seeking art-making that went into territory about identity. That work excavated perplexities and raised unsolvable questions rather than offering answers or truths and that only created more tension to seek and so, for multiple decades as an artist, I was in a cycle of chasing tension. 

My work is light-hearted and spiritually energetic, offering me the most fulfillment, joy, and positivity that I've ever had as an artist over my 30+ years of painting. How quickly the mind shift happened tells me how close and immediately available happiness, kindness, joy, and comfort are as a choice, if not that they also are inherently natural.
